We-Yarn

The CRRMH provides an Aboriginal suicide prevention workshop, called We-Yarn, through Good SPACE. The We-Yarn workshop was developed to meet the need for a culturally appropriate suicide prevention program for Aboriginal people following a review of the existing CRRMH Suicide Prevention Skills Workshops program. We-Yarn was developed in consultation with Aboriginal communities.

The mission of We-Yarn is to deliver unique quality training in suicide prevention, with a strong focus on health and well-being for Aboriginal people. This highly interactive workshop helps participants discuss suicide prevention in a safe and friendly environment, builds on Aboriginal understandings of life, the land, family and other key beliefs, and is co-presented by an Aboriginal person – former NRL player Nathan Blacklock.
