New RAMHP Conversation Guide

Today is R U OK? Day and this year’s message is ‘There’s more to say after R U OK?’.

Now, more than ever, our rural communities need to check in with each other and stay connected. If someone says they’re not okay, it’s also important to know what to say and how to start a conversation.

Adverse events such as drought, floods, bushfires and now a global pandemic have taken a toll on many people, financially, physically and mentally.

Communities need to look out for each. If you see someone you know who is showing signs of a mental health problem, it is important to talk to them and take action.

To provide some guidance around this, RAMHP has developed a new Guide – Having a Conversation which includes tips on how to start a conversation. Read it here.
