Collective Purpose Speaker Series 2018 Orange

Suicide Prevention is everybody’s business.

Come and join our discussion about what we can do to reduce suicide in our rural and regional communities.

This Speaker Series event will feature the Centre for Rural and Remote Mental Health’s recently released position paper, Rural Suicide and Its Prevention. You will hear from Professor David Perkins about the five focus areas to rural suicide prevention. Two local community members will also share their local projects:
• Sharon Cope & Rachel French, from Orange Public School will speak about their program Kids Matter and how they support the mental health of young people.
• Di Gill, from the Rural Adversity Mental Health Program will present on the importance of community connectedness when times get tough.

A panel discussion including Elizabeth Priestley, WayAhead – Mental Health Association NSW CEO discussing what the prevention strategy means for different groups. The panel will also take questions from the audience.
