Aboriginal Wellbeing

At the Rural and Remote Mental Health Advisory Forum on Aboriginal Social and Emotional WellBeing hosted by the Centre for Rural and Remote Mental Health (CRRMH) on the 28th October 2010, actions were identified which aimed to:

  1. Build cultural safety and security for Aboriginal people at the CRRMH

  2. Engage appropriately in research, education and service development with Aboriginal communities.

These actions were:

  1. Establishment of Aboriginal Advisory Group

  2. Exploration of opportunities to build academic expertise with community

  3. Develop competency of staff of CRRMH to work in a cross-cultural context

  4. Commitment to work with Aboriginal communities in a respectful manner
