This project is designed to build on the success of the DMHAP 2007 by raising the awareness of, and helping to address, the short and long term mental health needs of people in rural and remote NSW resulting from drought, recovery from drought, rural crises and climate change.

This major access and equity initiative aims to improve the cultural responsiveness of mental health services for people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds living in rural, regional and remote NSW.

The purpose of this project is to progress strategies to address the mental health needs of older people in rural and remote areas of NSW and strategies to address the mental health needs of older Aboriginal people.

The aim of these meetings is to review CRRMH projects and their progress, advise CRRMH strategic direction, and to identify areas of need/or opportunities for CRRMH support to Area Mental Health Services.

In late 2004, the Department of Health re-installed the former "Drought Support Line". It has since become an integral part of the projects that involve the mental health and wellbeing of people on NSW farms.
